Purpose
To
acquire all card items or $50,000 first.
The Set Up
A
banker, responsible for disbursing and collecting the monies and item receipts
for the bank, is selected.
Mix-up
the Game Cards and put them face down in a stack in the center of the playing
board.
Mix-up
the Career Cards and put them face down in a stack in the center of the playing
board.
Equipment
Money:
30 each: $10,000; 5,000; 1,000; 500; 100; 50; 10; 5.
Item
Cards: 4; Game Cards: 36; Career Cards: 15;
Item
Receipts: 36; Dice: 2; Playing pieces: 4;
Playing
board: 1.
To start
Each
player throws the dice, the highest total;
a)
randomly selects a career card, then
b)
places a playing piece on Pay Day, then
c)
receives the career salary from the bank, then
d)
receives an item card.
The
rest of the players follow this procedure clockwise.
The
first player rolls again and moves the playing piece along the board counting
each square as one.
A
player may buy, sell or trade acquired items during possession of the dice
unless a lose-turn occurs. A turn ends upon completion of all instructions and
after the dice are passed to the next player. A turn ends immediately when a
lose-turn occurs.
The Play
The
ranking of sequence of the game action is:
1st)
do board square instructions, then
2nd)
do game card instructions, then
3rd)
if throw double dice, roll dice for another turn.
End of Game
Occurs
when a player:
a)
has acquired a full house, all nine items owned;
or
b)
has accumulated $50,000 cash.
In
case of tie: first to have all nine items with most cash, wins.
Board Squares
When
the playing piece stops on a board square the player complies with that
square's instructions:
a)
Items - a player may buy an item by paying full price of item of square
landed on. If already own the item landed on, a player may buy a second item
(for trading or selling to another player).
b)
Lose Turn - the turn is immediately ended (double dice bonus is
canceled).
c)
Yard Sale - a player may buy any one item at half its price, except for
the house item.
d)
Auction - a player may gamble to buy any TWO items at half their
price. The items are selected and the dice thrown: 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 buys; 9,10,11,12 does not buy.
e) Change Career -
1)
turn-in old career card and any game card attachments,
2)
select a new career card from the face down pile,
3)
receive the new salary from the bank.
f)
Jail - when sent to Jail no transactions can occur for that player. No
Pay Day or Bills Due if passed on the way to Jail. After missing turn (s) play
resumes by throwing dice and moving that amount.
Visiting Jail - is for landing on the Jail square by the
amount on the dice. No penalties occur.
When
passing by or landing on these squares, comply with their instructions:
a)
Pay Day - each player receives the career card salary plus any current
game card attachments which may add or subtract from that salary.
b)
Bills Due - all players pay $1,000. When the HOUSE item is owned that
player pays only $500 Bills Due.
Double Dice
When
both die have the same number of spots face-up;
a)
the player moves the total number and complies with board square instructions
stopped on. If not a lose-turn, then
b)
takes a game card from the face down pile and complies with the instructions,
then
c)
takes another turn by rolling dice and moving that total, if double dice repeat
procedure.
Game Cards
When
double dice are thrown, that player takes a face down game card and complies
with the instructions, then places the used card face up in the used stack.
When
a player stops on a TAKE GAME CARD square, that player takes a face down game
card and complies with the instructions, then places the used card face up in
the used stack.
If
all the Game Cards are used, mix-up the Game Cards and replace them face down
in a stack in the center of the board.
Career Cards
Indicate
a player's salary throughout the game unless instructed to change career by the
board square or a game card. A few game cards add or subtract to the salary and
attach to the player's career until a new career change is instructed.
A
career card is randomly selected from the face down pile at the start of the
game and when instructed to Change Career. The player receives that salary when
the card, or a new card, is selected.
Items
The
nine items may be acquired by:
a)
landing on an item square and buying at full price,
b)
landing on the YARD SALE or AUCTION square and selecting to roll for an item
(s) at half price,
c)
trading items with other players,
d)
buying items offered for sale by other players.
Item Receipts
When
an item is bought from the board the player gives the banker the purchase price
and the banker gives that player the Item Receipt. The player places the Item
Receipt on the Item Card.
Debts
Monies
owed from buying items or from board and game card pay instructions must be
paid when occurred. No money may be borrowed during the game. When monies are
owed:
a)
pay cash to bank,
b)
if insufficient cash, items owned must be sold to the bank at half price
until the debt is paid,
c)
if no items to sell, all remaining cash must be returned to the bank. Then the
player takes another turn by rolling the dice and moving that total.
